A successful meeting.....

Well, just back from a most successful planning exercise at the Devy, trips itinerary sorted and my belly full. How can pubs afford to sell you Carslberg at just £1.65 and sell you a mahussive burger and chips for £3.00, personally I'm not complaining (though may belt is I think..)

Right, lets list what the plan is...

Blackpool > Paris > Rome > Venice > Munich (via Verona) > Salzburg > Zell am See > Munich > Prague > Berlin > Amsterdam > Blackpool.

All that to be done in an action packed 16 days, 15 nights. 8 nights in hostels of no doubt varying quality (and price..), 6 couchettes on the train and 1 night in a tent. Funnily enough the tent night is when we're in Munich when we plan on getting totally and utterly obliterated at Oktoberfest. Hmmm, me thinks a little tripping over of tent is going to ensue. Haha, I can see it now, as the title of the trip suggests, carnage!

Roll on the 20th, more updates to follow...

The preparation....

Well, rubbish day here in Blackpool, typical for August I suppose now..

About to meet up with my fellow continental trouble maker, the old word smith himself, Richy boy Heald. Funnily enough we'll be convening in the 'battle cruiser' to finalise the details of the forethcoming adventure in the heart lands of Europe.

This is a trip I've most definitely been meaning to make again, ever since I first went inter-railing back in 2005. This time I expect a totally different experience, having travelled solo back then, with only a handful of books to read, a knackered phrase book that got (very) little use, oh and my mobile phone (to make me feel I wasn't totally on my own - tart!!). Where last time I totally shat myself on more than one occasion when faced with mainly the challenges of the language barrier, I fully expect to laugh my backside off when faced with similar situations, being joined by the never shy Richard.

This blog will be used to document our trip as it happens (when we can find a computer!!), and inform the people back home we're alive, not been banged up in some grotty prison cell in Prague, and haven't quite run out of money yet (other wise we wouldn't be able to post anything.....right)

More posts will follow in the build up to departure, promise...
